ADOLESCENT GYNECOLOGY
GYNECOLOGY FOR TEENS PROGRAM (TeenFEMM)
If you've ever thought, "How come I didn't learn this as a teen?!" then you may be interested in our TeenFEMM program for a loved one of appropriate age.
Taught by a Reproductive Health Medicine & Gynecology FEMM instructor, this class teaches teen girls information about the female body, puberty and periods, hormones and emotions, and basic reproduction (sex is not mentioned). The class is open to ages 13-19, but is most appropriate for those who are 12 – 15 years old.

The program is composed of three separate sessions, each spaced a month apart. Each session is about 45 minutes long and includes slides with information and exercises that will be done via screen share with an instructor. In between each session, the patient will be responsible for charting her biomarkers (taught in the first session) as best she can and then sharing her chart with her instructor at each appointment to go over and discuss. Having this information can help young women grow confident in themselves and love the way they were made more. It can also help them know when something may not be right with their health and help their providers get to underlying issues faster before becoming a bigger problem.
